The Big Kahuna of Races

Actually, I know there are races even more intense, but I think for the general population, marathons are pretty intimidating. So, why not run one?

Like a proper student, I did some research. And I have set my sights and goals on this one, the Pocono Marathon. According to Runner's World, it's "a speedy downhill course on scenic country roads . . . downhill miles in quiet, natural surroundings. The route travels forested country roads as it whisks down Pocono Mountain." Essentially, it would be a good starter marathon because it's not a challenge one, and more importantly, it just sounds freaking beautiful. Therapeutic, if you will.

I'm really excited to push my body in a way that's actually healthy. I know the whole aspect of eating enough is really going to be a challenge, but at the same time, I'm looking forward to challenging myself and proving myself wrong. The only thing holding me back is whether or not I am physically healthy enough to be running that amount of miles. I mean, I think I am, but that's not really saying much. I have a doctor's appointment for a general check up/bone marrow test if recommended this Monday with Rosalind Kaplan, who apparently specializes in the health aspect of eating disorders. So, I'll ask her if I'm healthy enough, and provided she says yes, I will be missing $75 from my bank account within a matter of hours.
