It's nice to meet you.

I was always bad at this part, but I suppose the first entry calls for an introduction of sorts. So, without further ado, I'll start with the basics. My name is Jennifer, and I am 20 years old. I am a current resident of Philadelphia, but I grew up in a small town in the outskirts of Pittsburgh. I am a sophomore studying French and Spanish at Temple and plan on getting a Master's degree in teaching at Pitt.

Now for the knitty-gritty, dirty laundry stuff. I have an eating disorder. That being said, I am not my eating disorder. My eating disorder does not, will not, define who I am as a person any longer. I have a body, and I intend to use it in every possible way that I can. I will feed it properly. I will move it. And, eventually, I will run a marathon with it.

Ultimately, my goal is recovery. Self-acceptance. Self-love. The whole 26.2 miles. And a long, happy, healthy life. It won't happen over night, but I know that I can do this. And I know some days will be hard, but I'll just take them as they come, one mile at a time.
