Or something of the sort. I went to see my new doctor today. By far, she is the best doctor I have ever had. Anyone who is looking for one in the general Philadelphia area should look her up. She specializes in eating disorders, so there's none of the usual "You know, there are healthier ways to lose weight" condescending nonsense that most doctors give you.
Aside from that, I am as fit as can be. Sort of. Apparently, my vitals are all in tip-top shape, and she seemed pleased enough with my weight (touchy subject there, folks!). However, she also wrote me out a prescription for a bone density test and some blood tests for my estrogen levels. So, what that translates to is I won't know if the Pocono Marathon is realistic until sometime in January.
Ah! But no fear. I'm still signing up for the Bucks County Half Marathon on April 14th. The beauty of signing up for it without knowing about the marathon is that I can do it either way. If, heaven forbid, I can't do the marathon, I can make this my big race for the spring. If I CAN do the marathon, this will be a prep race that conveniently falls a month before the marathon.
And this is an example of me being an adult by mapping out a Plan B in case Plan A falls through. My mother would be so proud.
